Thanks to the generous support of the Women and Public Policy Program’s Cultural Bridge Fellowship at Harvard Kennedy School, I’ll be spending the summer in Belgrade, Serbia. I'll be working as Senior Editorial Assistant for Horizons Magazine, which is based out of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD). The two issues of Horizons that I will be helping to put together relate to the impact of ISIS in the Middle East and surroundings areas, and to the geopolitical consequences of the rise of China. I'm particularly excited to elicit contributions on how the rise of the Islamic State has affected the role of women, and the particular difficulties that the current mass migrations North of the Sahara are posing for affected women.
